The use of technology in the Airbnb business during the current technological revolution

Few hotels seek an easy solution by arguing that every guest request can be resolved with just one phone call. In ideal conditions, this is not wrong; however, with hundreds of requests per hour, prioritizing and assigning these requests manually can seem like a nightmare for any front desk. The sharing economy is a business model based on digital technology to save on transaction costs and reach many customers through digital platforms. The current Airbnb model has reached quite a lot of countries around the world; the operating model is based on a home-sharing platform. However, in Vietnam, this model is only available in key tourist destinations such as Phan Thiet, Da Lat, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, and central cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Airbnb is not popular in our country. Therefore, this study focuses on understanding the reality of using the Airbnb platform by hosts as well as tourists, the risks, and the challenges of doing business on the platform. reasonable solution. The focus on experiences seems to be paying off: the rental platform posted its best quarter ever as travel demand remains strong.
