Abstract

The lush green forests of Jammu and Kashmir contain important Non wood forest products (NWFPs) which are used by the natives and also marketed for their income. As opposite to timber, rarely entire plant species is harvested during NWFP extraction. There is a shared understanding among researchers, policy makers and development practitioners that many rural household in developing countries are dependent on natural resources. The rural people of study area site depend on sustainable agriculture, labor and animal husbandry for their livelihood support.
