Abstract

Microgrids provide a convenient and cost-effective solution to combine both renewable and non-renewable resources. This paper present an efficient optimization based multi-objective framework for optimal economic and emission dispatch of microgrid components such as power only generation unit, CHP units, heat only unit, photovoltaic, fuel cell and wind generation unit. The objective of this paper is to deploy the presented microgrid optimally in the proposed test system. In the proposed test system can operate a microgrid in either the connected or isolated mode. A 24-h time horizon is used to study the optimal economic and emission dispatch problem of microgrid and the results obtained are compared.
