Communication systems are often associated with a particular architecture. To understand the object being researched, the discipline of semiotics is necessary in communication systems. This article highlights the search for architectural meanings in Imambada architecture, using semiotics as a tool to analyze the symbolic and ritualistic aspects of religious understanding. The paper focuses on the theoretical framework of 'symbolism, ritual spaces' and the creation of 'Sacred Places' in Imambada, Awadh, which is an important symbol in Islam. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach that observes and analyzes facts on the site and methods of phenomenological case study propositions, supported by architectural evidence, to emphasize the symbolic and semiotic aesthetics in constructing the 'Sacred Spaces' through 'symbolism.' The study's object is Imambada in Awadh, and the findings were examined in light of semiotic theory to determine its significance to the building's figure. The findings indicate that the simplicity of the Imambada design, influenced by Shia beliefs and its connection to the context, creates the 'semiotics' of Imambada.
