Abstract

Assessment of RVA, Matrix Preference Ranking, documentation of traditional healing system and trade and value addition of NWFPs species were analysed in the state. Rapid variability assessment (RVA) analysis showed that among the prioritized NWFPs, moderate or low vulnerable commercialised species of the study area are Salix alba, Punica granatum, Pinus roxburghii, Aconitum heterophyllum, Atropa belladonna, Bunium persicum, Dioscorea deltoidea, Hericulum candicans, Hyoscyamus niger, Jurinea macrocephala, Picrorhiza kurroa, Podophyllum hexandrum, Saussurea lappa,  Valeriana wallichii, Viola odorata, Berberis lyceum, Terminalia chebula, Lavandula officinalis, Morchella esculanta, Nardostachys jatamansi, Pistacia inegerrima and Cinnamomum tamala.
